Setting up MFA
MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) is another extra level of authentication on top of a password and is an important security measure to protect your account, and also the wider university. It is an extra layer of security to stop malicious actors from gaining access into your account.
We recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator app and have provided instructions below. In the event that this is not possible, we’ve also provided instructions on using an SMS code as well at the bottom of this guide. The use of the MS Authenticator app is blocked in China so please bear this in mind and consider using an SMS code instead if this affects you.
There is also a video provided for Microsoft which walks through this setup if you’d prefer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCFAoMPFq-Q
